When Should You Review Your Life Insurance Beneficiaries?

Your beneficiary designation may stay on file for years. Life changes much faster. A short review can help make sure the people you intend to protect are still the people your policy names.

A beneficiary designation tells the insurer who should receive policy proceeds when the insured person dies. Because that instruction can outlive marriages, addresses, family roles and even named beneficiaries, it deserves more than a one-time signature.
